As part of the BBC collaboration with the International Volunteer Programs Association (IVPA), we have been taking suggestions for webinar topics in order to best respond to member needs. That’s how IVPA’s Kimberly Haley-Coleman was introduced to Khushal Safi, Head of International Safety at Northeastern University. In his role, Khushal works with university staff and international partners to minimize safety threats to students studying abroad and international students in the U.S. During a webinar on April 28, 2020, Khushal shared the safety and health factors that he and his team are considering as they think about sending students abroad again, and welcoming international students to campus.
